Generic suggestion:

  • Repeated revision of study materials
  • Write as much optional test as possible.
  • Linking Paper 1 and Paper 2 theories.
  • Provide example where ever possible. (Example: Participatory governance – “Duare Sarkar campaign by West Bengal government”).
  • Use quotation in the begging of most of the answer. This will helpful in your GS4 ethics paper too.  For example: Any question on Justice (Discuss Plato’s theory of Justice) – You may introduce with quotation:  “Injustice anywhere threat to justice everywhere” – Abraham Lincoln 
  • Use Part I (Section A) theory part of each paper in Part II of each paper.

Study materials:

  • Paper I (Section A)  :
    • Shubhra Ranjan Mams class note will be like Bible, revise as many times (5/6 times) before mains and make sure you have developed basic understanding.

  • Paper I ( Section B):
    •  Indian Polity by Laxmikant
    • In your answer Give reference to Article Number, Any Supreme court Judgement, Any committee recommendation including NITI Ayog report.
    • Any current affairs magazine Indian Polity part ( Vision preferably)
    • News paper ( Indian express and The Hindu only editorial part )    
    • For example: Search with scholar name (Make few scholar name handy – Upendra Baxi, Pratap Bhanu Mehta , Yogendra Yadav) .  
  • Paper II (Section A):
    • Shubhra Ranjan Mams class note will be like Bible, revise as many times (5/6 times) before mains and make sure you have developed basic understanding.
    • The Globalization of World Politics (John Baylis) Or Global politics by Andrew Hewards.
    • Any current affairs magazine International relation part( Vision preferably)
    • News paper ( Indian express and The Hindu only editorial part )    
    • For example: search with scholar name (Make few scholar name handy – C Raja mohan , Vivek Katju , Harsh v. Pant )
    • Few RSTV debate on international relation topic give you more perspective on India’s relation with outside world.
